Long Description
Stainless steel plate is produced by hot rolling or cold rolling stainless steel slabs to specified thicknesses, followed by heat treatment (solution annealing) and descaling to achieve the required mechanical properties and metallurgical structure. This product form is distinguished by its substantial thickness, which provides the structural integrity needed for load-bearing applications in aggressive environments. The alloy’s primary corrosion resistance comes from a minimum of 10.5% chromium, which forms a passive oxide layer. Plates are available in all major stainless families: Austenitic (most common, excellent all-around properties), Ferritic (good corrosion resistance, magnetic), Martensitic (heat-treatable for hardness), Duplex (high strength and chloride resistance), and Precipitation Hardening (ultra-high strength). They are supplied with various surface finishes and are integral to industries where material failure is not an option due to safety, environmental, or economic consequences.
Key Product Highlights
Stainless steel plates offer exceptional corrosion resistance, making them suitable for highly acidic, alkaline, or chloride-containing environments.
Available in a comprehensive range of grades and thicknesses to meet specific mechanical strength, toughness, and fabrication requirements.
The plate form provides the necessary mass and rigidity for constructing large vessels, tanks, reactors, and structural frameworks.
Can be supplied with certified impact toughness properties for low-temperature applications (e.g., LNG, cryogenic service).
Offers excellent hygiene and cleanability, which is critical for food, pharmaceutical, and bio-processing industries.
Product Advantages
Guaranteed mechanical properties and chemical composition ensure reliable performance in critical engineered applications.
Full traceability with mill test certificates, often including supplementary testing like pitting corrosion (PREN), intergranular corrosion (IGC), and Charpy impact.
Can be precision cut (plasma, waterjet, laser), formed, and welded using specialized procedures to create complex fabrications.
The material’s longevity and resistance to degradation reduce maintenance downtime and lifecycle costs.
Available in large dimensions, minimizing welds in large structures and improving overall integrity.
Industry Application
This plate is used for fabricating chemical reactors, distillation columns, pressure vessels, storage tanks for corrosive media, heat exchanger shells, offshore platform components, flue gas desulfurization systems, pulp digesters, and structural parts in aggressive atmospheres.

Packaging & Surface Treatment
Plates are carefully packaged to prevent surface damage. They are separated by protective paper or plastic interleaving, bundled on wooden or composite dunnage, and securely strapped with steel bands. For highly polished or critical surfaces, additional protective films are applied. The standard surface condition is Hot Rolled Annealed and Pickled (HRAP) for plates over approximately 6mm, which leaves a uniform matte finish. Finishes like 2B (smoother) or various polished finishes (No.4, No.8) are available for thinner plates or upon request.
